Katie and Bill: The Wedding

Katie and Bill planned a small ceremony in St. Augustine to have our beach as the backdrop for their wedding. They booked the photography from Ohio a year ago and could only hope the weather would be beautiful on the day they chose in St. Augustine.

The rain began falling lightly about an hour before the ceremony. They had hired a wedding planner who ran out to get a tent to cover their ceremony space on the beach but by the time she got back with the tent, the rain had stopped. The clouds cleared up just in time for the ceremony and everything worked out just as they planned. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from their day.

I'm so glad the weather turned out for them! It rained on my wedding day (destination wedding as well) and then after everyone was soaked we had beautiful skies the rest of the day. We just laughed, but I know it's disappointing to have weather ruin your wedding day plans.

I did shoot one wedding where all of the plans had to be changed because of a downpour. I know I would have been crushed if my wedding didn't turn out like I had planned. Jay and I got married outdoors and we didn't have a backup... we just got really lucky with a great day. I'm amazed at how flexible brides can be. I think you're on that wedding high and nothing matters but having fun that day.
