We're back from Rome...

We went to Rome, GA to visit our friends Blake and Tiffany.  We took a much needed, overdue break from our busy work lives to spend time up in the mountains.  We had an amazing time and were sad to leave today.

My favorite part was spelunking.  It was so exciting to explore a cave; it was unlike anything I've ever done.  We entered through a small, rock-lined hole in the ground that dropped down about 7 feet.  From there it was pitch black and muddy.  We climbed steep rocks and followed the narrow cave path for over an hour.  I took a couple pictures in the pitch-black darkness... I never quite figured out how to get the best picture but 8 second exposures at least allowed me to capture something.  We didn't see anyone else while we were there.  We were a little nervous what would happen if we got lost inside (there were so many different ways to go).  Don't worry mom - we had our flashlights and left a form at the entrance to the cave with our names and time of expected return.

Here is Jay entering the cave and Tiffany looking up while we were inside (probably as Blake and Jay kept climbing up to the really high cave ceiling!)
